Q&A What motivates you to keep going through the hard times?

Hello everyone and welcome back.

Today I'll be covering what helps motivate me through the hard times of running SewnbySabrina. Which fits in pretty well as we are in what I consider the dead time of year. The beginning of the year.

Everyone is tired at the beginning of the year, we all barely got through December, everyone is burnt out from the busy holiday season, seeing family, the cold weather and with the new year comes the resolutions...

All of these factors and more tend to have an impact on people and how they tend to spend. A lot of people are recovering financially from the holiday season that just passed by; maybe they spent more than they originally planned to and need to take it easy. Which is understandable, I've been there too.

That doesn't mean your business is failing, it just means we're recharging our batteries. I like to remind myself of that as we leave January behind and move into February. I know the first few months of the year aren't the best for sales. Or aren't for my business.

Over the years of running The Craftsmen Guild, my Etsy shop, I've noticed that my usual busy season tends to be the summer months into the back to school season as well. Which is understandable, my business is very marketable to younger audience of clients.
When I look back on the history of my business, its also when I attended the most and biggest of my market events back when I was in the Windsor-Essex area. I was handing out lots of business cards.
I was out in the community, spreading my name and product which helped drive more people to my social media and to my online shop.

I try my best to remind myself that the hard times won't last forever, its like the snow in winter, soon it will melt and the sun and warm weather will be back. Same as my sales numbers.
It's not that easy as just waiting for the better times to come around though. I still have to work at things. Even if folks don't see me, I'm still doing things behind the scenes.
Sewing the fabric I bought into few things, working of selecting which items to post in the next product launch. Taking updated product photos to give my business the best chance at finding themselves on your screen.
I try to post every day to keep myself and my business on your feeds and for you pages.

Even if that means I don't get that many views, likes or comments. It's for the grander good. If I keep posting one day I'll pop up on someone's feed and they'll want to buy from me.
I know that some days are harder than others so sometimes I can go a day without posting, but then the thought comes back to me and I get back at it. Because if I don't I'll never make my dreams come true. It won't happen on its own.
I have to make it.
So I think of that, how I want to do this as a full time job, be able to build a house and raise a family while working a career that I love, making things that make me happy.
So I don't quit. I hope that others who are having a hard time don't quit either, even if our dreams don't line up in any way. We are all working to the dream that drives us.
We can and will do it.
I believe in you, and I hope you also believe in me.

Tell me down below what drives through the hard times to keep going. Lets encourage each other in the comments that things will be good this year.
Until next time,
Sabrina
